Airport Hotels in the UK
Because the United Kingdom has a number of major international airports it is little surprise that there are also a significant amount of airport-based hotels. The larger the airport the more hotels there are likely to be, as is the case with London Heathrow which has over twenty hotels in it's general vicinity. Some well known chains even have more than one hotel near Heathrow to cater to the large volume of travellers. Holiday Inn, for instance, has three - Heathrow Holiday Inn, Heathrow Holiday Inn Ariel, and Heathrow Holiday Inn (M4). The Marriott also has three - the Heathrow Mariott Hotel, the Heathrow Windsor Mariott, and Courtyard by Marriott Hotel; whilst the Sheraton chain has two - the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel and the Heathrow Sheraton Skyline. Comfort Inn, Heathrow Ibis, Novotel, Radisson and Crowne Plaza are also based nearby, making Heathrow Airport one of the most well serviced airports in the country.
London's other airports are equally well equipped with hotels in their general area. Stansted Airport is home to a Hilton, Radisson, Holiday Inn and several other hotels, whilst Luton has two Holiday Inns close by as well as a few other independents. Gatwick is particularly well catered for - a Hilton, Sofitel, two Holiday Inns, a Crowne Plaza, a Travel Lodge, an Ibis and a Europa hotel are only a selection of the hotels situated close to the airport.
Further afield, at Manchester Airport, passengers will find a similar level of hotel coverage. Hilton, Marriott, Crowne Plaza, Radisson and Travel Lodge all have hotels situated around the airport complex. Travellers to Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports are equally well looked after with a similar spread of internationally renowned hotel chains.
